Michael Williams started at ALCO Management in May of 1983. He started at National Atlantic Apartments as a leasing agent. Michael moved on to Walnut Park, now known as Chickasaw Place Apartments, as an assistant manager within his first year at ALCO. Michael was soon promoted to resident manager for the National Atlantic properties and two years later he became the resident manager for Greenbriar Apartments.
A year later he was promoted to the role of internal auditor for ALCO, visiting the properties and checking files. In 1990, Michael was promoted to the RPM position until 2003, when he became the compliance manager/special projects manager. In 2013, Michael joined the RPM team again with additional responsibilities as the Reasonable Accommodations and 504 Coordinator.
Michael is quiet but effective. He listens and thinks before responding and has a motto of “keeping things simple” for his community managers. His properties perform well, and he has been dedicated to ALCO and to the roles he has been asked to fill. Michael is also quite the actor, as he has performed in several skits at seminars and always has a great sense of humor.
He is willing to participate in whatever activity is happening. Michael was a math teacher before coming to ALCO Management. We kid with him about not being able to count. Just ask him how old he is and wait on the response! He loves to “rib” his co-workers. Michael and his wife, Sherry, have two adult children and two grandchildren. Over the years, Michael and his wife have raised several other children in their home for family members. Michael is the treasurer in his church, and he graduated from the University of Memphis. Michael will leave ALCO, February 15th, and we will miss him but wish him well. We hope he finds all kinds of adventures to explore.
