BUILDING COMMUNITY AND ENGAGEMENT!

During the week of December 13, Parsons Cove Apartments was without power and under a boil advisory. The office staff swung into action by partnering with a local church to provide meals for the residents. They also ensured that there were snacks and fresh fruit available. Next, the Parsons Cove team focused on the safety of the residents by having sensor lights installed in the hallways as the battery backup in the emergency lights only lasted about an hour. Volunteers donated mini flashlights for the residents to utilize.

The office refrigerator was made available for residents to store perishable items. Courtney Harding, Regional Property Manager, also brought portable phone charges and charged phones for those who needed charge their devices. The only complaint that the residents had was the inability to make coffee. A fellow resident met the challenge by making coffee for the residents. As a thank you, the residents replenished his coffee supplies. The care and responsiveness shown by both the Parsons Cove team and the residents are just more examples of how we can build community even in times of need.
