One lucky Elvis fan is sure to “shake, rattle and roll” when she –or he – wins a dream-come-true vacation! Imagine taking a step back in time to experience life in 1950s Memphis, in the boyhood home of the King of Rock and Roll. Best of all, the whole experience is free!
ALCO Management, Inc., is sponsoring a sweepstakes giveaway for a free weekend stay in Elvis’s boyhood apartment at Lauderdale Courts (Uptown Square). The sweepstakes is only available on Facebook and launches Aug. 9, 2019. It continues until Aug. 16, 2019, and the winner will be chosen randomly Monday, Aug. 19.
Contestants can enter the sweepstakes on ALCO’s Facebook page by liking the Thank You Very Much post. The post becomes active on ALCO’s Facebook page no later than 6 a.m., Aug. 9, 2019. The free weekend stay is valued at $500.00 for two nights in the Elvis Suite. The offer is good for any weekend from Sept. 2, 2019, through July 31, 2020, except for Elvis’ birthday week (Jan. 4-11, 2020).
The Elvis Suite is fully renovated to look exactly like the Presley family apartment in the 1950s, including a very special boyhood bedroom. The apartment is a part of the larger property, Uptown Square, formerly Lauderdale Courts, built in 1936 by some of Memphis’ finest architects and designers. Elvis’ family lived there from 1949 to 1953. ALCO currently manages the property.
“All of us at ALCO are Elvis fans. We're thrilled to sponsor the Thank You Very Much sweepstakes for the third year in a row! Last year, a longtime Elvis fan won, and that’s just great. Think how special spending a couple of nights in Elvis’s old apartment was to someone who’d been a fan since she was a teenager. We hope this year another fan feels just as lucky,” said President Robert Hyde.
The Lauderdale Courts rehab was completed in 2004. The property was renamed Uptown Square.
