Beth Stolts Retirement Message

Where has the time gone?  This is a common question that we all think about for many occasions, but at this time, I am looking back on my 42-year career, and more specifically, the past 21+ years at Alco Management.  It seems like only a few months ago that I was meeting the Alco team as they were touring the Hardaway properties in middle Tennessee.  Little did I know how much my career would change for the better.

I have been lucky to have worked with over 33 on-site teams over the years and am amazed at the loyalty and dedication they bring every day to serve our residents. You all are not thanked enough for all that you do!

Over the past 18 months, I was honored to be the team leader of the 11 properties in the Kentucky Portfolio.   While it has been a challenge, the 8 Community Managers and their teams have done their best to help me cover open positions, prepare for inspections, train new employees, answer my questions, and take care of their respective properties. I am grateful for each of them for everything that they have done and continue to do.  We were lucky enough to be able to gather for Christmas Lunch last week, which was a challenge, due to distance between all the properties.  We met at The Whistle Stop in Glendale KY and ‘broke bread’ before meeting back at Greenwood for a grab bag exchange and retirement cake.  It was great to be together one last time as a team, but bittersweet at the same time.

I am so appreciative to everyone at the Corporate office for their kindness and support over the years.  A big thanks to the RPMs for being around as a sounding board, as we all work through the daily challenges, not the mention all the fun times. You will be missed. A special thanks to Sondra for her kindness, friendship, support, leadership, and ‘gentle pushing’. I would not have seen the personal successes I have had without her.

As a company, we are going through a challenging time with the conversion to RentCafe/Right Source, but in the end, I think these changes will be a positive one…it’s just hard to see right now as we feel the stress of learning the new processes and meeting deadlines.   In many ways, we are unlearning many processes we have had done over the years.   Remember that in order to grow, we sometimes must work through changes. That is all a part of life! Just remember to be kind to one another through it all. I wish you all nothing but the best and much continued success.
